Ford Bronco

Rugged but nimble, the 2022 Ford Bronco Sport is the ideal SUV for anyone who enjoys heading out on the weekend for an adventure in the wild. With a compact build, agile handling, and the hardware to handle any sort of terrain, it’s perfectly designed for driving off the beaten track.

A variation of the sixth-generation Ford Bronco released in 2021, the Ford Bronco Sport is a compact crossover SUV with the same retro shape and off-roading capabilities as its big brother. Four trim levels, the Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands, let you customize the vehicle according to the sort of expeditions that you’re planning to have.

Mountain Goat

The Bronco Sport is built to navigate a variety of tough terrains. All models feature a four-wheel drive and HOSS suspension as standard, and have 8-speed transmission, a water-wading capacity of 23.6 inches, and five GOAT (Goes Over All Terrain) modes, including eco, slippery, and sand.

If you’re serious about off-roading, the Badlands model has an extra inch of suspension height, a more powerful engine, and metal bash plates. A twin-clutch rear-drive unit, differential lock feature, and upgraded cooling components mean that it’s got the constitution to handle a challenging landscape, and two extra GOAT modes equip it for mud/ruts and rock crawl as well.

Workhorse

There are two turbocharged engine options available for the Bronco Sport, the three-cylinder 1.5l Ecoboost on the Base, Big Bend, and Outer Banks, and the four-cylinder 2.0l Ecoboost on the Badlands model. With 181 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque on the lower powertrain, it’s potent enough to tow 2,000-2,200 pounds,

Pack Mule

The Bronco Sport’s boxy shape and extra height, combined with folding rear seats, make it ideal for carrying bulky items. With a payload of 1,000 pounds, 32.5 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, and a roof rack capable of carrying two bikes, this is an SUV that’ll have no problem hauling all your kit. Hidden storage compartments and MOLLE straps are also available, meaning that it’s adaptable enough to carry whatever you might need for your exploits.

New for 2022

Not much changed on the Ford Bronco Sport in 2022, although the packages were rebranded to accommodate the removal of the moonroof, which is now a standalone additional item. The SUV is now also available in Bronze Smoke, Velocity Blue, and Hot Pepper Red, three new shades that join favorites such as Shadow Black and Area 51 to complete a lineup of 11 exterior color options.
