A road going through a canyon in Utah

Are you living in Price, UT, and not sure what to do this weekend? Or maybe you’re staying for a few days and want to make the most of your time? Located in one of the most beautiful regions of Utah, there are a lot of things to do around Price that make for some great day trips. To help you plan, we’ve made a list of our favorites!

1. Price Canyon Recreation Area

If you’re going on your short adventure in late spring, summer, or early fall, you can visit the stunning Price Canyon Recreation Area. During the winter and early spring, the trails and mountains are covered with ice and snow, making them unsafe for non-professionals. However, when the snow and ice melt and the wildflowers bloom, there is no better place to go to take in the fresh air, see the local wildlife, and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The Price Canyon Recreation Area features forests of bristlecone pine trees, one of the longest living organisms on the planet, which can be enjoyed from one of the many campgrounds on the site. The campgrounds are complete with large picnic tables, toilets, fire rings, and parking spots. But keep in mind that the campsites are first-come-first-serve, so make sure you get there early!

2. Carbon Country Club

We absolutely love a day of playing golf, and we don’t think there is a more beautiful course than the one at the Carbon Country club, wedged between low cliffs and rocky valleys. The country club hosts several tournaments throughout the year, but if you’re not a golf pro or just want to get your feet wet in the sport, feel free to visit on one of their less-busy days and take your time on the beautiful greens.

After your round of golf, you can have a delicious meal prepared by Carbon Country Club’s expert chef and kitchen staff. You’ll want to go back again and again!

3. Utah State University Prehistoric Museum

If you’re a history lover or a paleontology aficionado, then you’re going to love the Utah State University Prehistoric Museum. The museum has its roots in the summer of 1960 when Lee Stokes and Eldon Dorman acquired an allosaurus skeleton which they brought to the Price area. A year later, the museum was constructed, and since then it has acquired specimens of many different prehistoric creatures which are on display for all to see.

These specimens can be seen in the Hall of Dinosaurs, where ancient animal skeletons are positioned in poses that show their eating and mating habits. From there, you can proceed to the Hall of Archeology. In this portion of the museum, visitors can experience the thrill of seeing artifacts used by their distant ancestors.

To make sure you can bring everyone along on your trip, drive a spacious vehicle like the 2022 Ford F-150. Test-drive one today at Price Ford!
